BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 3, 2019) – A man lost his life in a bicycle crash on Chester Avenue, Tuesday evening.
 
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the incident happened at about 7:15 PM. Due to unknown circumstances, a passing vehicle struck a man on a bicycle near 3rd Street.
 
Emergency responders pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
It is unknown whether or not the driver of the vehicle remained to render aid.
