63-Year-Old Pedestrian Dies after Crash on East Vista Way near Townsite Drive

 
VISTA, CA (November 19, 2019) – A 63-year-old man died in a pedestrian accident on East Vista Way, Tuesday morning.
 
According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the incident happened at about 5:45 AM. The pedestrian attempted to cross outside of a marked crosswalk. Then, a northbound vehicle struck the victim near Townsite Drive.
 
Emergency responders rushed the pedestrian to a hospital, where he later died. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, the 42-year-old driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
 
Investigators ruled out alcohol and drugs as factors in the fatal crash. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
