59-Year-Old Man Dies after Bicycle Crash on Airport Street near Stanford Avenue
HALF MOON BAY, CA (November 18, 2019) – A 59-year-old El Granada man lost his life in a bicycle crash on Airport Street, Monday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 6:09 PM. Due to unknown reasons, a southbound Toyota Sienna collided with the northbound bicyclist near Stanford Avenue.
Emergency responders pronounced the bicyclist dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, the minivan driver, identified as 33-year-old Muyuan Zhu of East Palo Alto, remained and cooperated with investigators.
CHP officials ruled out alcohol, drugs, and speed as factors in the fatal crash. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
