Driver Killed in Three-Vehicle Accident on Hatch Road [Ceres, CA]

DUI Suspected in Fatal Three-Vehicle Crash on Hatch Road near Mitchell Road

 
CERES, CA (November 16, 2019) – A driver was killed in a three-vehicle accident on Hatch Road, early Saturday morning.
 
According to the Ceres Police Department, the incident happened at about 5:30 AM. Due to unknown circumstances, a 2002 black Honda and a 2008 gray Mazda collided in the eastbound lanes. The impact caused both vehicles to enter the westbound lanes. There, a 1994 Ford Ranger collided with the Mazda.
 
Emergency responders pronounced the Mazda driver dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the driver, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, the driver and passenger of the Ford truck were both transported by ambulance to local hospitals for treatment with unspecified injuries.
 
The Honda driver, later identified as 24-year-old Jose Luis Valdez-Villasenor Jr., suffered major injuries. Investigators believe that Valdez-Villasenor was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the crash.
